Abstract
This chapter presents the synopsis of an international survey conducted within the scope of the European-funded project PETALL (Pan-European Task Activities in Language Learning) on the use of ICT in Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT). Besides trying to ascertain the ways in which technology-mediated tasks are put into practice by practitioners in both the EU and the USA, this study also looks into the differences and similarities that exist between their beliefs and attitudes in the implementation of other methods and approaches in the language classroom, familiarity with the theoretical tenets of TBLT, and the use of textbooks and other resources.
Keywords: Task-based Language Teaching, ICT in Language Teaching, Teacher Education, Teaching Practice, Comparative Study .
